Will Technology Be Biodegradable In Future?
WILL TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT GO HAND IN HAND IN FUTURE?
Hey guys! this is my first post on my blog and I am feeling really awkward right now as this is my very first experience to share my thoughts and ideas this way. So please bear with my presentation skills.
Today I am going to talk about one of my college project which I performed for my internal assessments. I am going to talk about biodegradable electronics and their future scope. I read this information and related articles from ( https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242012066 ).
Illinois Professor John A. Rogers demonstrates a new type of electronics; made of silk, magnesium, and silicon, these electronics completely and harmlessly dissolve in water.
Nowadays the overall life of electronic gadgets is becoming less which is resulting in highly increasing electronics waste in the whole world. This waste cannot be recycled nor it gets degraded and stays in the environment for hundreds of years. Can this problem ever be tackled? or technology will be the biggest enemy of human life in the future?
And the solution to this problem is being found by scientists so that this boon of technology never becomes mishap.
Some of the ceramic substrates and polymer substrates have been developed which get degraded into the environment and do not leave any harmful traces after their degradation takes place.
Many biodegradable substrates (insulators), semiconductors and conductors are developed and have been successfully tested. Such materials enable several functionalities: low cost, non-toxicity, biodegradability, and bioresorbability for electronics and biomedical applications.
